When we first bought the barn we found a very heavy cast iron front from an old french bread baking oven. We kept it!! We have now hoisted it up and set it in one of the walls where the kitchen will be. In due course the cooker hob or range will go in front of it and it will be painted with a tiled shelf inside and - we hope - make quite a feature in the kitchen. And remind us of the state of things when we first got here.

Just thought you should be reminded of how the garden looked when we got here at the end of February!! Just so you can appreciate how well we have done, so far!!

Have managed to have a bit of a gardening burst just lately and thought you might like to see how that part of the project is getting on. Up until the day before yesterday we were able to have our breakfast outside every day - fantastic.

Tidying up the building site is an ongoing business. We have watched a number of renovation/building programmes on the television and we always think the building sites look awful!! So we try to keep it all under control as we go along!!

So - what do you think of all these walls!!!
We can wander about now and it almost looks as if we have rooms!!
